Biography

I was born in Baghdad, Iraq, in a time of great liberation and optimism in that part of the world.

My family moved to Kuwait City, Kuwait, when I was a young child. I was raised in Kuwait and I attended K-12 public schools and then Kuwait University studying Mechanical Engineering tuition-free based on high academic achievement in high school.

I came to USA in 1992 after the Gulf War and lived in Seattle in the 1990s where I worked as a manufacturing engineer at Boeing in Everett, Washington. I worked on the Boeing 777 flight deck supporting the inspirational factory workers on the factory floor. I love airplanes and appreciate good carftsmanship. I love collecting 1:200 scale model airplanes.

I lived in Ann Arbor, Michigan in the 2000s and worked as an engineer in the automotive industry supporting suppliers to the big car companies.

I earned a masters degrees from the university of Michigan - Dearborn in mechanbical engineering and another masters degree in Statistics from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor taking evening classes all while working full time as an engineer during the day. I absolutely love and support the University of Michigan - Go Blue!!!

I later taught college math classes at a community college in Ann Arbor. I met my beautiful wife and we were blessed to have a precioius daughter born in Michigan. I've been married to my beautiful wife for over 20 years now.

I came to NYC in 2010 because my wife got a job in banking and have been a New Yorker since that time. 

In NYC, I attended to our daughter and got my PhD in Quantitative Methods in Educational Psychology from The Graduate Center at the City University of New York (CUNY).
